2007 YEAR IN REVIEW
My “Year in Review” is a little late in coming due to my wife having our second child. We had a little girl named Annika Jane, “Annie”, who is healthy and squirmy.
Speaking of healthy, that is what best describes our awesome fishery. This was our best steelhead year in a long time. Also, I have been hinting at this for a few years, the Lake Trout fishery has recovered.
We seldom fished for Lake Trout this year, but when we did, we were able to catch a lot. I won’t say the Lake Trout fishing is like the “good old” days, but it seems almost as good compared to a few years ago when we caught just a few.
Our Steelhead were not only large in numbers, but also in size. Some fish were easily in the 12 to 15 lb. range.
The best news has to be the amount of bait that is present in the lake. This, of course, makes for just plain crazy good Salmon fishing! My dad and I have never seen so many 12 to 15 lb Chinook ever. Although we did not come across any real trophy size Kings, it was still the best King year, perhaps ever. Limit catches, and its lots and lots of fun!
.My Dad and I look forward to seeing our old clients next year and meeting all of our new ones.
Always remember….Jesus could have spent time with anyone, but he chose to hang out with fisherman.
Call soon, the best dates always book early!
